NIPC free 6-week online course "An Integrated Approach to Managing COPD and Heart Disease". Commencing 18th October 2022

NIPC are launching a free 6-week online course "An Integrated Approach to Managing COPD and Heart Disease", designed for healthcare professionals in Ireland. Beginning with a live online introductory session on October 18th (6.30-8.30pm), followed by self-directed online learning over 6 weeks, this course culminates with a live online interactive consolidation session.  The course covers the core knowledge, skills and latest insights to support patients with COPD and Heart Disease. The application deadline is 18th September.

HSE Health and Wellbeing Alcohol Programme. 'Let's Talk About Alcohol and Pregnancy' Webinar. 9th September 12.30 - 1.45

The HSE Health and Wellbeing Alcohol Programme will host a webinar on the 9th September 12.30 - 1.45 to inform and guide conversations about alcohol and pregnancy as part of International Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Awareness Day. 



This webinar will explore how to effectively communicate about the risks of alcohol during pregnancy and have challenging conversations about alcohol and pregnancy. New videos demonstrating alcohol brief interventions with pregnant women will be launched.

HSE update on monkeypox vaccination programme in Ireland. 17/08/2022

The HSE has (Wednesday, 17th August 2022) announced that some people who are at high risk of contracting monkeypox will be offered a vaccine against the disease in the next few weeks. The HSE is now widening the vaccination process and is implementing the most recent National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC) advice, which is to vaccinate people at risk before they are exposed to the virus. The HSE sought the advice and guidance of clinical and ethical experts to develop a plan for the initial offer of the limited supply of vaccines currently available.
