Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris has today launched a new implementation plan to address issues regarding sexual violence and harassment in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
11 designated monkeypox vaccination centres will open across Ireland from 17th October. Individuals will be asked to self-identify their risk and book a vaccine appointment.
The Health Service Executive intends on completing monkeypox vaccinations for high priority groups by the end of the year. Representatives from the HSE told the Oireachtas Health Committee today (12/10/2022) that 11 designated vaccination centres will open across the country from Monday, 17 October.

Winter Vaccines Campaign

All healthcare workers in Ireland are invited to participate in a short survey on influenza and COVID-19 vaccination intention which will support planning of our immunisation programmes. This survey is a joint venture between HSE-Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) and HSE-National Immunisation Office (NIO).
The HSE has confirmed that it is investigating four cases of meningococcal meningitis/septicaemia reported in the last week of September; 3 cases are confirmed and one is possible. Three of the cases are reported to be caused by serogroup B. Sadly, two of the people affected have died.
The cases were reported from different regions of the country and have no known links with each other. Three of the cases are young adults and one case is less than 10 years of age.

The HSE has announced that a free national home testing service for sexually transmitted infections for those aged 17 and over, which was piloted last year, has now been expanded to all counties in the Republic of Ireland.
The HPSC has been notified of 194 confirmed cases of monkeypox in Ireland (04/10/2022).
