Free online course on management of Menopause by Irish College of General Practitioners goes live on International Women’s Day (8th March 2023). Available for allied health professionals, including GPs, midwives, pharmacists and nurses.

The Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) is the professional body for general practice in Ireland. The ICGP is the representative organisation for education, training and standards in general practice with 4,200 members, comprising over 85% of practising GPs in Ireland, and over 900 trainees in supervised practice. To mark International Women’s Day (8th March), the College’s new online course in the management of Menopause is going live and available free for all allied health professionals.

Foundation Programme in Sexual Health Promotion. GOSHH/ HSE Mid West Community Healthcare Health and Wellbeing.

HSE Mid West Community Healthcare Health and Wellbeing Division are working with GOSHH Ireland (Gender Orientation Sexual Health HIV) to deliver the Foundation Programme in Sexual Health Promotion in the Mid West this year. This revised comprehensive programme is open to all health, education, youth and community service providers who wish to develop their confidence, skills and knowledge in the area of sexual health promotion.

HSE announces free Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) for anyone who wants to quit smoking. National No Smoking Day, February 22nd 2023

This National No Smoking Day, Wednesday, 22nd February 2023, the HSE is delighted to announce that nicotine replacement therapies (NRT) are free from local stop smoking clinics as part of a package of supports on offer to people who quit smoking through the HSE QUIT service.

In 2022, almost one in five people in Ireland smoke* (Healthy Ireland, 2022). The prevalence of smoking in Ireland remains at 18% and has not declined since 2019.  

GOSHH free training session: Talking with Young People about Sexual Health and HIV. Tuesday 28th February, 9:00am to 4:30pm at the Hotel Woodstock in Ennis.

GOSHH are delivering a free training session in the areas of Sexual Health & HIV for professionals who are working with Young People in the Mid-West. This training aims to develop participant’s knowledge and skills around talking to young people about Sexual Health & HIV.
